The Fairburn Singers

is a 40-strong SATB choir, celebrating 25 years in 2015, singing an eclectic mix of secular and sacred music, including items as diverse as Chilcott’s ‘Be Thou My Vision’, ‘Tribute to Queen’ and……. Libertango!

Led and accompanied by remunerated professional musicians, the choir performs around eight concerts a year in a wide variety of venues, ranging from church halls to Nostell Priory, Temple Newsam House and the Phoenix Theatre in Castleford.

A number of social events are held throughout the year, including an annual dinner early in the year (which has thus far included a choir written and performed pantomime) and a summer BBQ.
